  Research Notes:

From FindaGrave.com:

John Christopher Plemmons Sr. was born and raised on a farm in Boardtown, Gilmer County, Georgia. His aunt Sally originally owned the farm, and as an adult he lived there and cared for her. Sally never married, and she left the farm to "Chris" after her death. On his farm, Chris had cattle, hogs, orchards, corn, and a vineyard. He was a successful farmer for his entire life.

Chris and Nellie attended Salem Baptist Church; Nellie was a member, but Chris never joined because the church frowned upon drinking alcohol, and Chris owned a vineyard and occasionally drank his own wine. They are buried at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Gilmer County, Georgia. (Information provided by Edgar Land, grandson of Chris and Nellie)
