Mary Margaret Grant Meek was a direct descendent of Mary Stuart Grant (b. 1759 Scotland - d. 1843 Osnabruck Twp., Ontario), the daughter of Dr. James Stuart (1711-1804) United Empire Loyalist.

William Meek and Mary Margaret Grant married 28 Sept. 1859, and had the following children:
- Margaret Jane Meek b. 20 July, d. 1923 - married John Simeon Salmon (1854-1936).
- Sarah Ann Meek b. 1862, d. 25 Dec. 1945 - married James Peter Salmon (1852-1904).
- Agnes - b. 2 March 1868, d. 28 Oct. 1936 - married Philip Donald Snetsinger (1854-1922)

Mary married William Meek, son of Matthew Meek and Maria Ewart. (William Meek was born in May 1827 in Eastern District (Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry), Upper Canada (Ontario), Canada, died on 6 Sep 1878 in Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, Canada and was buried in Willis Cemetery, [North] Lunenburg, Osnabruck Twp (South Stormont), Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, Canada.)
