  Research Notes:

Note: Based on a letter from Donald M. Johnson to his sister Alice on 23 July 1972, the present researcher originally identified the parents of Jens Christian Jensen as Jens Hansen Smed and Christiane Jensdatter. These were probably the parents of a different Jens Christian Jensen born on 21 Oct 1821 in Bolle, christened on 28 Oct 1821. According to Donald M. Johnson, Jens Hansen was buried in the churchyard of Dronninglund Church, but neither he nor his father before him was able to locate the grave.

According to the church records examined by Finn H. Thomsen, "our" Jens Christian's parents were Jens Jensen and Mette Nielsdatter
