Served as Captain of Militia on December 28, 1776, in the Linganore Hundred Battalion of Frederick County; resigned his commission in 1777 (Ref: R-126, T-276)."

Aquila Hall was High Sheriff of Baltimore County and after Harford County separated from Baltimore County in 1773 he was appointed Colonel of Militia and one of the Lord Justices of the new county of Harford from 1774 to 1779.
