She was 46 in 1881.

Her first name appears as "Emeline" and "Emmeline" in Poapst family Bibles. According to descendant Wayne Poapst, "The name WEREELEY is sometimes confusing, as it is written with 2 "e's" and 3 "e's" -- growing up it was impressed on us that our "Wereley" relatives had "3 e's"..." Wayne spells her first name "Emmeline."

This is probably the same individual as Ermeline Wereley, b. 5 Nov 1833. The existence of two girls with similar names born exactly one year apart is highly unlikely.

Emmeline married Alexander Poapst, son of John Frederick Poapst and Margaret Wood, on 24 Jan 1856 in <Wesleyan Methodist Church>, Cornwall Twp, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, Canada West (Ontario), Canada.¹ (Alexander Poapst was born on 10 Jun 1829 in Osnabruck Centre, Osnabruck Twp, Stormont, Eastern District (Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry), Upper Canada (Ontario), Canada, died on 8 Nov 1910 in Cornwall, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, Canada and was buried in Waterdown Cemetery, Lunenburg, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, Canada ⁷.)

Married in Cornwall Township in the Eastern District by John Howes of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Canada. Witnesses were Alexander Werely, Ann Papst.
