John married Elizabeth of Rhuddlan, Princess of England, daughter of King Edward I of England and Eleanor of Castile, Countess of Ponthieu. (Elizabeth of Rhuddlan, Princess of England was born on 7 Aug 1282 in Rhuddlan Castle, Denbighshire, Wales, died on 5 May 1316 in Quendon, Essex, England and was buried in Walthan Abbey.)
