This is probably the Jacob Sheets who served in the King's Royal Regiment of New York during the Revolutionary War and was granted land in Cornwall Township in the Eastern District of Ontario. Jacob Sheets appears in U.E.L. list published in 1885 (Lunenburgh, p. 391).

The 5th concession was on the eastern boundary of Township No. 2, now Cornwall. On McNiff's map of 1 Nov 1786 as "Jacob Scheets."
