Per http://www.papst-family.canadianwebs.com/custom2.html, "Elizabeth married Gottlieb Otto [brother of Franz Otto]" I am assuming that this is that same individual. I have no verification that Johan Gottlieb went by the name "Gottlieb."

Gottlieb Otto was in Butler's Rangers during the Revolutionary War, and he was granted land in the Eastern District in Ontario.


Johan married Elisabeth Papst, daughter of Johan Adam Papst (U.E.L.) and Eva Marie Ham, in 1784 in Albany (Schoharie), New York, United States. (Elisabeth Papst was born about 1765 in New York, (United States) and died about 1787 in Osnabruck Twp, Lunenburg District (Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry), Quebec (Ontario), Canada.)
