"IV. JOHN. John Hyat of Stamford, sold land in S. to John Weed, in 1668, recorded in 1669. The name of John Hiat occurs as a witness to deeds in S. in 1678 and 1680. He had removed from Stamford, Ct., to Yonkers, W.ch. Co., N. Y., before July 6, 1689, when he discharged his father-in-law, Cornelius Jones, of S., from all claims of inheritance, according to Stamf. rec. From these records it would appear that a 'John and Ruth Hiat' were married in 1690."
