Sir Robert de Lathom, son and heir of Sir Robert de Lathom and Amicia Alfreton. He succeeded his father and had lands in childewall, Parbold and Wringtington. He was sheriff, 1286 (Edward I), and married Katherine, daughter and heir of Thomas de Knouselegh. They had at least four children: Thomas; Joan; Hugh, to whom his father gave the township of Whittle; and Philip, a quo Lathoms of Astbury. Sir Robert died 18 Edward II (8 July 1324-7 July 1325).

Sir Robert de Lathom, son and heir of Sir Robert de Lathom and his wife, Amicia, daughter and coheir of Robert de Alfreton, of Alfreton, Normanton and Marnham, was in possession in 1291, as by summons of that date aginst the Scots, was summoned to meet the peers in the Great council at Westminister 17 Edward II (1324). He was deceased in 18 Edward II, when his Inquisition Post Mortem was taken. In this Inquisition it names his eldest son Thomas, was was issue by Catherine, daughter and heir of Thomas de Knouselegh, and she survived her husband. His other sons were Hugh and Philip de Lathom, of Astbury, who are identified by painted windows of Astbury Church.

Robert married Katherine de Knowsley, daughter of Thomas de Knowsley and Unknown. (Katherine de Knowsley was born about 1252 and died after 1325 in Lancashire, England.)
