  Research Notes:

This may be the "J. T. Werley" on the 1879 map of Stormont County, published by H. Belden. I have not been able to determine whether he was in Cornwall at that time, nor the birthplace of his children who were born around 1879. His son Willis was born in Cornwall Township in 1884, however.

  Noted events in his life were:

• Owned: (probably) Lot 36 in Concession 9, 75 acres, 1879, Cornwall, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry, Ontario, Canada. ² Map published by H. Belden has "J. T. Werley."
The lot was on either side of a north-south road in Cornwall, along which were several houses. To the immediate north was A. Werley, then Jas. Poapst then J. G. Poapst. To the immediate south was A. Runnions, then H. Markell, then G. Markell.

James married Martha McBride.
