  Research Notes:

From http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=bill_r&id=I5861 :

John Frederick Shaver was born on and lived on lot 6, 4th concession, and later
the 8th concession. John and Anna had nine children, Thomas Peter, Frederick
Harvey, Sarah, William Herman, John Frederick, Aaron, Alonzo, Mary Anne,
Maranda.

That same source has a second son named John Frederick Shaver (Schaeffer) b. 1792 in Berne, Albany, New York, d. 1862 (http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=bill_r&id=I6590). This second one sounds like a different person, with different parents, because of the birthplace.

Noted events in his life were:

• Served: (probably) as Captain in the Dundas 2nd Regiment, 12 May 1837. 2 "J. Shaver"

John married Anna Nancy Stata on 1 Aug 1813 in Williamsburgh Twp (South Dundas), Dundas, Eastern District (Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry), Upper Canada (Ontario), Canada. (Anna Nancy Stata was born about 1794 in <New York, United States> and died about 1851.)
