Bennie "Ben" Lois Hayes, age 86, died Thursday, September 12, 2013.
He was born July 31, 1927 in Picher, OK to Doc and Lillie Hayes. He grew up in Picher, and was a graduate of Miami High School. He then enlisted in the United States Navy and served during WWII.
Ben worked for BF Goodrich in Miami, OK until 1956 when he moved to California. He then moved to Polson, Montana where he owned and operated his own Mexican Restaurant and Quick Stop. He moved back to Yukon, Oklahoma and ran a lawn care business until the age of 84.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Wayne and Shade Cooper. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Betty (Robertson), son Ben Hayes, daughter DeeAnn DeVore and husband John, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and brother; Edgar Hayes.
Visitation will be at McNeil's Funeral Service from 10am until 8pm on Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Services will be 10:00am Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Crossroads Church, OKC, OK, with interment to follow at Yukon Cemetery, Yukon, Oklahoma under the direction of McNeil's Funeral Service, Mustang, Oklahoma.
