Matilda C. Johnson 1

  • Born: 21 Apr 1871, <Taglesbraw>, Denmark
  • Marriage (1): Chris C. Johnson
  • Died: 31 Aug 1938, Gibson City, Ford, Illinois, United States at age 67
  • Buried: Gibson City, Ford, Illinois, United States

Another name for Matilda was Matilda Jensen.

  Research Notes:

Matilda may not have been a child of Lauritz and Caroline. From Mark Johnson 3 May 2012:
"In addition, there is a Chris C. Johnson (1865 or 1866 - 1901) who married Matilda Jensen (?) (April 1871 - 31Aug1938), both of whom are buried in Gibson City, Ill. It is confusing because Matilda is listed by the historical society as 'daughter of Lauritz Jensen Johnson.' No listing of Chris C. parents."

The 1900 census has "Caroline Johnson, Mother" living with Chris and Matilda in Ford County, Illinois. Caroline may have been Chris' mother instead, since he was the head of the household.

  Birth Notes:

Have been unable to determine what place "Taglesbraw" refers to.

Noted events in her life were:

• Emigrated: from Denmark to the United States, 1880.

Matilda married Chris C. Johnson. (Chris C. Johnson was born 1865 or 1866, died in 1901 and was buried in Gibson City, Ford, Illinois, United States.)
