From the will of Alexander Wallace 21 April 1909:
"I, Alexander Wallace, late Merchant and residing at Manse Place, Tain, with the view of settling my affairs, and providing for the disposal of my means and estate after my decease Do hereby Give, Grant, Dispose convey and make over to and in favour of William John Macdonald, Town Chamberlain, Tain; Roderick Finlayson, Farmer, Ardjachic, Tain, and Cambusavie Sutherlandshire; Charles Mackenzie, Bank Agent, Tain, and Alexander Wallace, late Farmer, Tullich, Fearn, now residing in Hartfield Street, Tain, and to the acceptors or acceptor Survivors or Survivor of them, and to such other person or persons as shall be assumed in manner aftermentioned (the major part accepting and surviving at the time being always a quorum) as Trustees and Trustee for the ends uses and purposes aftermentioned (the said Trustees and their foresaids being throughout these presents denominated "my Trustees") and to the assignees of my Trustees or their foresaid heritably and irredeemably All and Sundry lands and heritages goods gear debts and sums of money and in general the whole estate and effects heritable and moveable, real and personal of what kind or nature soever or wheresoever situated now belonging or which shall belong to me at the time of my death, with the whole voucher and instructions, writs titles and securities of and concerning my said Estate and Effects, and all that has followed or may be competent to follow thereon:

"Docquet signed as relative to oath to Inventory at Tain 30 Aug 1911)

AT Tain, the Thirtieth day of August 1911.
IN PRESENCE OF Hugh Munro Fraser, Esquire, Justice of the Peace for Ross and Cromarty, Appeared William John Macdonald, Town Chamberlain, Tain, who, being solemnly sworn and examined, Depones: That the said Alexander Wallace, late Merchant and residing at Manse Place, Tain, died at Manse Place, Tain upon the first day of May Nineteen Hundred and eleven, domiciled in the County of Ross and Cromarty in Scotland.
That the Deponent is Executor Nominate of the deceased along with Roderick Finlayson, Farmer, Cambusavie, Sutherlandshire: Charles Mackenzie Bank Agent, Tain, and Alexander Wallace, late Farmer, Tullich, Fearn, and now residing in Hartfield Street, Tain, conform to Trust Disposition and Settlement by the deceased dated 21st April 1909, which is signed as relative hereto.
That the Deponent has entered, or is about to enter, upon the possession and management of the deceased's Estate as Executor foresaid, along with the said Roderick Finlayson Charles Mackenzie and Alexander Wallace."

• Appointed: Trustee of the estate of Alexander Wallace (1813-1911), 21 Apr 1909, Tain, Ross and Cromarty, (Highland), Scotland. Other trustees were William John Macdonald, Roderick Finlayson, and Charles Mackenzie.

• Residence: Hartfield Street, 21 Apr 1909, Tain, Ross and Cromarty, (Highland), Scotland.


Alexander married Margaret Dick in 1855.1 (Margaret Dick was born 1829 or 1830, died on 20 Apr 1910 in <Tain>, Ross and Cromarty, (Highland) Scotland and was buried in Nonikiln, Rosskeen Parish, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland 4.)
