Her maiden name appears with variations. The record of her Wisconsin marriage in 1847 has "Catharina Cowen."

It is possible that this Catherine Studley was Mary Catherine Studley who owned the tiny book The Mental Friend, and Rational Companion, Newark, N.J.: Benjamin Olds, published between 1806 and 1831.
