"Anna Mae Cooper, 90, beloved sister, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully of natural causes on Monday, March 16, 2009, in Oceanside. She was born in Missouri on July 22, 1918.
"She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Shade Lee Cooper, daughter-in-law Barbara Cooper, granddaughter in law, Melinda Cooper, and step Grandson, Cameron Armstrong. She is survived by her sister, Mildred Jennings and brother Roy Vandiver both of Oklahoma; her sons, Jerry Cooper of Oceanside and John (Patsy) Cooper of Arizona; grandchildren Gary (Maureen), Robert (Ann), David, Ronald and Jeffrey; Step grandchildren Ryan and Jenny; great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Melanie, Rebecca (Troy), and Johnny; step great-grandchildren Cannon, Ryland, Ashley, Jessica, and T4ravis; and great-grandson Mikeal.
"Anna Mae lived in National City for over 60 years. An avid bowler, she belonged to the 200 Club and enjoyed the club's 24-hour excursions to Laughlin. She loved the home teams, the Padres and Chargers. She enjoyed reading the newspaper and playing card games. She was an expert needle worker; she loved to crochet and quilt. She was devoted to her family and for this she will be sorely missed."


Ana married Shade Lee Cooper, son of Glen Cooper and Clara Lily Carnal, on 7 Sep 1935.
